Why go

Why Çalış Beach belongs on your list

Çalış stretches for several kilometres along the north side of the Gulf of Fethiye. It faces west across the water, so every evening the sun sets behind the islands, turning the whole bay orange. Locals and visitors alike come down to the promenade just to watch it.

It has a relaxed, residential feel compared with Ölüdeniz. The beach is mixed sand and fine shingle, the promenade is lined with cafés, bars and family restaurants, and there are plenty of places to stay within walking distance of the sea.

Being so close to Fethiye town makes Çalış a great base: the harbour, the old town, the Tuesday market and the Lycian rock tombs are a short ride away, and many of our tours pick up right here.
