Full description

The jeep safari is the loudest, wettest and most sociable day out in Fethiye. Open-top jeeps collect you from your hotel in the morning, and the water fights between cars start almost straight away. Bring a water pistol or buy one on the way, and keep your phone in a dry bag.

The first stop is Tlos, a hilltop Lycian city with rock tombs, a theatre and a castle that was used for over two thousand years. From there the convoy heads up the valley to Yakapark, where cold streams run between the tables and lunch is served. Next comes Saklıkent: you walk on a boardwalk into the gorge and then wade up the river between walls that rise hundreds of metres overhead. Ringo rides on the river are available here as an extra.

The day ends at the Karaçay mud bath, where you cover yourself in warm, odourless mud, take a shower and ride back to your hotel, tired and happy.
