Why go

Why Göcek Islands belongs on your list

The Gulf of Fethiye is scattered with islands, and its western end around Göcek is the most sheltered and beautiful part. Pine forest comes right down to the water, the bays are calm even on windy days, and most of the coastline can only be reached by boat.

Göcek itself is a small, smart marina town where gulets, sailing yachts and superyachts tie up side by side. From here, and from Fethiye harbour, boats fan out to Yassıca's sandbars, the ruins on Tersane, and Cleopatra's Bath, where ancient walls lie half underwater in a quiet cove.

Whether you join a group day trip or charter your own boat, this is where you come for a slow day of swimming, snorkelling and long lunches on deck.
